Royal Cake Studio is headed up by myself Abbi Briggs, cake artist, sugar crafter, and dream maker.
At an early age, I developed a passion for baking, growing up in a small town in New Zealand. I spent many school vacations with my Nana who trained as a pastry chef, learning to bake in an old fashioned coal range. She baked the most amazing homemade breads, cakes, and desserts and shared many of her best-kept secrets along the way.
My Nana was a huge inspiration to me, turning her homegrown produce into something fresh and delicious. Those fond memories have shaped me into the woman that I am today, passionate about good quality, gourmet ingredients and a love of baking.
I have been fortunate to travel and sample a number of regional delights that have influenced my menu at Royal Cake Studio. From Macarons in France, Scones in England, Lamingtons in Australia and now Red Velvet in America, each experience has developed my knowledge and expertise throughout the years.
I have always enjoyed baking cakes and gourmet treats as a hobby for colleagues, family, and friends. However, it wasn't until my children were born that I started to create edible works of art. What began as just birthday cakes for my girls has now 6 years later, quickly became cakes for repeat customers and a full time business!
I am so incredibly humbled to do what I love on a daily basis and to be a part of so many special occasions. It truly is an honor to create something special for your event.
