Founded in 2014, Helping Mamas is the sole baby supply bank in Georgia. Through partnerships with nearly 100 schools, ministries and healthcare services, the organization distributes 30,000+ baby/children necessities to women living in poverty every year. In addition, the organization offers educational programs such as car seat and safe sleep training.
Catering to ages from birth – 12, Helping Mamas has served 35,000+ children, distributed over 1,000,000 essential baby items and has logged over 8,000 in volunteer hours.
As a volunteer-based organization, Helping Mamas encourages the community to donate time as individuals, families, with youth groups or through corporate outings. Helping Mamas has drop-off locations throughout metro-Atlanta. In addition to donating time and supplies, Helping Mamas has close to 100 partners that they collaborate with to supply mothers in need with essential items.
Jamie Lackey, founder + CEO, saw a gap between the hard work she did as a social worker and need from those she served for basic baby supplies. With one in three women in Georgia unable to afford diapers, she launched Helping Mamas to bring relief.
