AK9A Alan’s K9 Academy

AK9A Alan’s K9 Academy provides personalized, in-home dog training for families in Gwinnett County, including Duluth, and throughout North Metro Atlanta. Our trainers come to you, helping you address everyday challenges where they happen—at home and in your community.

Founded by military veteran and Master K9 Trainer Alan Carr, whose experience in police K9 handling and training began in 1991, AK9A combines decades of hands-on experience with practical coaching for dog owners. Our goal is to help you build a stronger relationship with your dog through clear communication, consistency, and confidence.

Our specialties include puppy foundations, basic and advanced obedience, leash manners, off-leash training, and behavior modification for challenges such as reactivity, fear, anxiety, and aggression. We also offer therapy-dog preparation, AKC Canine Good Citizen training, and service-dog foundations.

Every program is tailored to your dog’s temperament, your family’s needs, and your training goals. We work directly with you so you understand how to reinforce your dog’s progress and make training part of everyday life.

Recognized as a Best of Georgia winner in 2024 and 2025, AK9A is proud to help dogs and their families develop lasting skills and more enjoyable lives together.
