In 2010, John was inducted to his 1st of three Hall of Fame awards for his innovations to martial arts and the sport known today as MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). John is also very passionate in his role as National Community Service Director for the non-profit organization SafeRide America. Their mission is to pro-actively prevent all types of impaired driving and to assist children that have been orphaned or injured by impaired driving crashes. This is important to John because it is a story that hits home as his dad was killed by an impaired driver. John says, “If my role in SafeRide America can prevent the heartache of another child going through the same thing I did as a kid, that is all that matters to me. If by chance that an accident does occur, I want to make sure each family is properly insured to handle the difficulties of unforeseen accidents.”
