Tomatoes taste even better when you grew them yourself! Harvest Gwinnett is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 growing season, giving you the chance to claim a raised garden plot and turn fresh produce into a hobby worth bragging about.

Some people garden because they love homegrown vegetables. Others just want an excuse to spend more time outside without pretending they're training for a marathon. Harvest Gwinnett makes room for both. The county's community garden program welcomes gardeners of every experience level, from first-time seed starters to seasoned growers who already know exactly when to plant peppers and basil.

Each raised plot offers space to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, or a combination of all four. Beyond the harvest itself, the gardens create a place where neighbors swap gardening tips, celebrate successful harvests, and occasionally learn that zucchini plants have absolutely no concept of personal space. Spending a few hours tending a garden also offers a welcome break from screens while giving families, retirees, and anyone with a green thumb, or hopes of growing one, a reason to get outside.

Whether you live near Lawrenceville, Suwanee, Lilburn, Loganville, Norcross, Grayson, Dacula, Snellville, or Sugar Hill, chances are there's a garden within a short drive.

No Plot? No Problem

Not everyone wants to commit to an entire growing season, and that's perfectly fine. Harvest Gwinnett also welcomes volunteers who help maintain garden spaces, assist with community programming, and support educational activities throughout the year. It's a simple way to get involved, meet fellow gardeners, and still enjoy the satisfaction of helping something grow without worrying about whether your tomatoes survive August.
