The Pink Takeover is Almost Here!
If Paint Gwinnett Pink is on your Saturday agenda, it's time to get your pink ready! This year's 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer and Survivor Celebration brings Gwinnett together once again at the Gas South Arena campus in Duluth this Saturday, October 17.
Lace Up, Gwinnett!
Race morning begins at 7:30 a.m. with vendor booths, followed by opening remarks at 8 a.m. and the survivor celebration at 8:15 a.m. At 9 a.m., everybody hits the course.
Runners can put their pace to the test on the USATF-certified 5K, which is also a Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Walkers can take their time alongside friends, family, and coworkers. However you cover the miles, you'll be surrounded by plenty of Gwinnett neighbors doing the same.
Packet pickup is October 15 at the Gwinnett Hospital System Foundation office in Lawrenceville.
More Than a Morning Together
Since 2016, Paint Gwinnett Pink supporters have raised more than $3.85 million for programs and equipment needs supporting the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute in Gwinnett.
This year's goal is $525,000, and every participant, team, and donation helps move the community closer. For many of the people gathering Saturday morning, the reason for showing up will have a name and a familiar face: a friend, relative, coworker, or neighbor who has faced breast cancer.
Even if you're not taking on the 5K, you can still be part of the morning by cheering on participants along the course or donating to someone who's participating. And if you'd like to keep giving beyond race day, Northside Hospital's giving program supports cancer care and other programs throughout the hospital system.
Whether you're running, walking, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, Saturday is all about showing up for the people who make Gwinnett home. Find your pink, bring your people, and get ready for a morning that means a whole lot more than five kilometers!
