Red, White, & Ready to Celebrate!
Gwinnett doesn’t appear to be easing into Independence Day this year. It’s arriving with parade floats, lawn chairs, food trucks, fireworks, laser lights, patriotic playlists, and enough red, white, and blue to make a bunting salesman emotional.
With July 4, 2026, also marking America’s 250th birthday, local celebrations are carrying a little extra sparkle this time around.
Across the county, cities are giving families plenty of ways to celebrate close to home, which is good news for anyone who prefers community charm over interstate traffic and parking-lot negotiations.
Pick Your Kind of Patriotic
In Braselton, Celebrate 4th of July in Braselton brings the full small-town holiday package to Historic Downtown Braselton. The day includes a patriotic parade, festival fun, food trucks, shopping, kid-friendly activities, a free concert on the Town Green, and a patriotic laser show to close out the night. It is the kind of day where you can show up for the parade and accidentally stay until the sky starts glowing.
Downtown Snellville is also getting in on the action with Star Spangled Snellville from 4 to 10 p.m. on the city’s Town Green. Expect a festive community crowd, patriotic energy, entertainment, and the easy appeal of celebrating right in the heart of town.
Lilburn’s Sparkle in the Park keeps things classic at Lilburn City Park from 6 to 10 p.m., with live entertainment, inflatables, food vendors, artists, and a fireworks finale. Translation: bring the kids, bring the folding chairs, and bring whatever snack keeps everyone cheerful until the big boom.
A Movie, A Lake, or Both
Peachtree Corners is taking a more cinematic approach with Flicks on the Green, screening Captain America at 7 p.m. on the Town Green. It’s a very on-theme choice for a Fourth of July night, and frankly, one of those times where showing up with a picnic blanket and superhero enthusiasm feels completely reasonable.
For families wanting to turn the holiday into a weekend escape, Lanier Islands Resort is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with pool parties, lakeside cookouts, live music, and Fireworks Over the Lake presented by Margaritaville.
However you celebrate, Gwinnett is making the Fourth feel local, lively, and worth staying out past bedtime.
