His radio career began at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he had a radio show on CKUT FM that served as a platform for networking, including meeting head of Spectacle Entertainment Barry Garber. Burton had been a member of the band I.C RED while growing up on the West Island of Montreal.

Through his association with Garber, who also represented Celine Dion, I.C. RED opened for renowned Canadian rock bands like Glass Tiger and Honeymoon Suite, even sharing the stage with international acts such as Joan Jett and The Blackhearts as it toured for several years. This valuable experience shaped Burton’s understanding of the entertainment industry and paved the way for his future endeavors.
